What Galleyleaf is
Galleyleaf is a free, open source tool, run by one person. Its setup page sets up or updates a book site in a Google project you own, so early readers can read your book and leave notes. In these terms, "Galleyleaf", "we" and "us" mean the person who runs it, and "you" means the author using it.
Your project and your book
- The Google project, the site and everything in it belong to you. Galleyleaf only fills the project in at your request.
- Your project runs under Google's own terms, which you accept when you create it, including the Firebase terms. Galleyleaf isn't part of that agreement.
- You're responsible for what you publish on your site and who you share it with, and for following the law and Google's policies.
- Your readers' names, emails and notes are stored in your project, so looking after them is up to you. Galleyleaf never has access to them.
Using the setup page
- Choose a project you're allowed to change. Setting up replaces any website already published in that project, and the page warns you before it does.
- Don't use Galleyleaf to harm others, to break the law, or to try to get around the limits of its site or of Google's services.
- Galleyleaf may stop anyone who misuses it from using the setup page.
Cost
Galleyleaf is free. It sets your project up on Google's free plan, and never asks for payment details. If you move your project to a paid Google plan yourself, any charges are between you and Google.
Open source
The site Galleyleaf publishes is open source, at github.com/galleyleaf/galleyleaf, under the licence in that repository. You may use, change and share it under that licence.
Privacy
The privacy policy explains what Galleyleaf does with your Google account and the little it keeps about you.
No guarantees
Galleyleaf is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. It's built with care, but it may have mistakes, Google may change its services, and the setup page may be changed or stop running at any time. If Galleyleaf stops, your site keeps working, because it runs in your own project. Keep your own copy of your book.
Limits of responsibility
As far as the law allows, Galleyleaf isn't responsible for any loss or damage from using it, including lost data, lost content or problems with your Google project. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that can't be limited.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version goes on this page with a new date at the top. Using the setup page after that means you accept them.
