Galleyleaf

Put your book online for early readers

  1. Sign in with Google

Use the Google account you'll manage your book with. Google will ask you to let Galleyleaf manage your Google projects. That's how this page sets up your site for you.

Google may say the app hasn't been verified yet. Choose Advanced, then Go to galleyleaf.com.

    What can Galleyleaf do?

By signing in, you agree to the terms of service and the privacy policy.

  2. Choose your Google project

    Looking for your projects…

    Create a new project instead

Firebase opens in a new tab. When it says your project is ready, come back to this tab. This page finds your project by itself.

On a phone, switch back with your browser's tabs button. This tab is the one called Galleyleaf.

Firebase needs 2-Step Verification on your Google account. Google requires it for everyone who uses Firebase. If you haven't turned it on, Firebase asks you to. Or do it first: turn on 2-Step Verification. It takes a couple of minutes and uses your phone.

    1. Click Create a new Firebase project. On your first visit it may say Get started with a Firebase project.
    2. Type your book's title as the project name. The address under it becomes your site's address, ending in .web.app. Click Continue.
    3. Tick the box to accept the Firebase terms, then click Continue.
    4. If it offers AI assistance (Gemini), you can leave it as it is. Click Continue.
    5. Turn off Google Analytics. Galleyleaf doesn't use it. Click Create project.
    6. When it says your project is ready, come back to this tab.

It's free, and you don't need to add billing. Ignore anything else Firebase offers to set up: this page does it.

  3. Tell us about your book

Readers see it on Google's sign-in screen.
This Google account becomes the site's admin. It can publish the book, see readers' notes and remove readers.
Choose somewhere near most of your readers. It can't be changed later.
